We have 2 special horses for sale. Because of their uniqueness it is very hard to put a price on them so we are running two auctions for them. How does it work? Email us at fallingcreekranch@gmail.com your name, a code name if you don’t want your actual name to be used for the auction, address and phone number, what horse you want and what your bid is. Bids must be at least $250 more than the current bid. Each night we will post on this page the highest bid. After 2 weeks, the highest offer will be able to purchase the horse.
DREAM of Falling Creek Ranch – auction will run on Thursday 19th June from 7pm onwards until there have been no more bids for 15 minutes. Email us your bid and we will update the bids on our website as they come in. Make sure you regularly refresh your page to see if more bids have been added.

Dream couldn’t have a more apt name, she is one of our best horses, everyone who rides her, loves her! She gets ridden many times each week and will leave a massive hole in our business but unfortunately because of our very hilly terrain, we feel it is best for Dream if she has an easier life now. We have owned her since 2021.
She has an incredibly sweet, calm, quiet nature, She is a great all round horse and has been used for beginner, special needs to confident rider lessons in contained and open paddock situations, farm and beach treks and she does all our adult multi day trek camps, where we do a 5 hours trek one day and muster cattle on the second day. She is also used for our 4 day kids and teen camps. This horse makes any rider look good, she has a nice trot and smooth canter and has taught many people how to trot and canter well. She has done quite a few cowboy challenges and handles most obstacles. Confident with jumps
Easy to catch. Dream sometimes reacts to being tied up so we just leave the rope hanging over the rail, she always just stands there until you come back for her. She has never bolted or really misbehaved in any way. She is good to trim (we don’t shoe but she was shod by her previous owner) Has been floated to the beach many times in an angle load truck and angle load float for beach treks, she loads well but does tend to rush out. Once out at the beach i just thread the rope thru a loop but don’t tie it. Good to cover.
Dream has had some issues with runny poo the last year or so, but this doesn’t seem to effect her in any way. We have found feeding her beet, cool fed, fibrezy and a scoop of minerals, along with hay and longer grass has helped her gut settle down and her poo to harden up.
It will be very sad for us to see her go. Located Wanganui.

THOR of Falling Creek Ranch – auction will run from Thursday 19th June from 8pm onwards until there have been no more bids for 15 minutes. Email us your bid and we will update the bids on our website as they come it. Make sure you regularly refresh your page to see if more bids have been added.
1st Bid $5000 Jadeinthebay
2nd Bid $5250 Country Girl 8.15pm Congratulations Country Girl, You won! 8.30pm
Age unknown. We were told he was born 2014 when we bought him in 2018 but according to our horse chiropractor, his teeth say more like 20. We thought teeth was a reliable way to age a horse but have had feedback it isn’t always accurate. He has recently got gray hairs on his face and is less enthusiastic about cantering now than he was. Also his back feet are harder to pick up than they were.
Thor has a beautiful calm nature, he is the easiest horse to ride, his biggest fan’s are beginner and intermediate riders and return to riding adults as he has such an even temperament and is Mr dependable. Even if other horses around him trot or canter away he is happy to keep walking. He can be ridden in a rope halter. He is a great all round horse and has been used for beginner, special needs to confident rider lessons in contained and open paddock situations, farm and beach treks often with people who have not ridden before, and he does all our adult multi day trek camps, where we do a 5 hours trek one day and muster cattle on the second day. He is also used for our 4 day kids and teen camps. He has done cowboy challenges with kids, teen and adults. He is not enthusiastic about jumping.
He is good with his feet, although some clients find his back right foot hard to pick up. Good with being trimmed (we run our horses barefoot) We don’t covered our horses, Thor always comes through the winters in good nic.
Thor gets ridden quite a few times each week and will leave a massive hole in our business but unfortunately because of our very hilly terrain, we feel it is best for Thor if he has an easier life now. We have owned him since 2018.
